Lampworking Beads

Discover the art of lampworking beads. The Glass Hub Team will guide you through the fundamentals of lampworking (flameworking) using a torch. You will work from your own torch to design and make 10 or more beads over the day, using a wide selection of colours and processes.

10-Week Glass Foundation Course

An in-depth foundation course covering the principle glassmaking techniques in both the hot shop and the kiln room. Over 10 weeks you will spend equal time in these two areas of glass forming, namely five days each with glassblowing and kiln forming techniques, alongside gaining knowledge and experience in glass properties in general.

Students will be given the opportunity to gather, form, design and make (with a bit of help), their own glass sphere to hang and a tumbler. Printing Techniques for Glass with Philippa Beveridge

From linoleum cuts to decals, this four-day course will cover surface decoration and printing techniques using both mediums, as well as kiln-forming techniques from fusing and slumping to basic mould-making. The techniques covered and individual responses will be assessed in light of their great potential for both architectural and sculptural glass work.
