Glassblowing Weekend

Learn how to gather, blow and shape hot molten glass straight from the furnace. This is a wonderful introduction to glassmaking, with plenty of hands-on practice in small groups of up to four students per tutor. Come and experience this ancient craft and create your own glass objects.

Masterclass: Advanced Pattern Making in Glass with Ian Chadwick

Over three days you will explore principles of advanced pattern forming in fused glass. Using pre-formed Bullseye glass stringer sheets, students will expand their knowledge and experience of kiln-forming and cold-working techniques to produce intricate patterns which utilise symmetry and geometry to create hypnotising mandala-like patterns.

Drop Outs

Extend your kiln forming experience and discover how to create vessels using the 'Drop-Out' technique. We will cover cutting, assembly, inclusions, kiln firing and slumping. We will also look at finishing techniques. A great way to develop new ideas and skills. Some prior experience with glass fusing is required for this course.

Half-Day Glassblowing

A great glassblowing taster, suitable for beginners to try their hand at this molten art form. Students will be given the opportunity to gather, form, design and make (with a bit of help), their own glass sphere to hang and a tumbler. This is an ideal opportunity to try something you have always wanted to do, or perhaps never thought of before.

1-Day Glassblowing

A great introduction to glassblowing, suitable for beginners to try their hand at this molten art form. A guaranteed unique and exciting day, you will leave with a new understanding of glass as well as first-hand skills.

Martin Janecký Masterclass

  • 2nd October 2020
Over three days Janecky will take you through his techniques and approaches to solid and blown sculpting from within the bubble. There will be an emphasis on freedom to explore process and the potential of the material.
