Glass Taster Day

COURSE OUTLINE
Join us for a day’s exploration into the properties of molten glass and various methods of manipulating and forming this incredible material. Learn how to gather, stretch, pull, colour, sculpt, blow and pour the glass while liquid to form a range of objects including: a small sculpture (such as a flower or a bird), a glass sphere and your very own tumbler to drink from. We will then have a go at sand-casting by pouring molten glass into impressions in sand to create one or two sand-casts.
A great introductory class for those with an interest in this most inspiring craft and who would love to experience first-hand how glass is made.

TUTORS: The Glass Hub Team
The Glass Hub team are all professional artists and tutors with many years experience. We run a number of furnaces, and although we do not guarantee a particular tutor for the 1-day blowing courses you can be sure that each tutor will be highly qualified and experienced.

IMPORTANT: Due to the cooling down processes involved with all glassmaking it is not possible for students to take work home on the day it is made. Work needs to cool slowly in our kilns and may be collected at a later time by arrangement or carefully packaged and posted to you for £20 (Our cost, no more).
