Course Tutor – Suzy Hannabuss
Suzy Hannabuss was born and raised in the beautiful surroundings of Connecticut, USA. Suzy spent most of her college years and her 20’s living in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, where she worked in the Aviation industry working with Private Jets. This work put Suzy in the fortunate position to travel to such places as Peru, Russia and South Africa – places which have often proven the inspiration for her work.
From a young age, Suzy, like most girls, was fascinated with jewellery. She often thought of taking classes to get started in making her own jewellery but, with such a demanding work and personal life, never seemed to find the time. When she arrived in Bristol, she found she had more spare time, and so decided to embark on jewellery making courses, and immediately became hooked. Once established in jewellery making she discovered the art of making lampwork beads, and quickly found a local studio to create and display her work. Suzy has now been lampworking for over 10 years and is sharing the art with others.
